For this modern living room renovation, our clients wanted a space that felt sleek, bright, and effortlessly sophisticated. The original room was dated, with heavy finishes and an awkward layout that didn’t reflect their contemporary taste. We started by simplifying the layout to establish a clear focal point and improve flow. By removing bulky built-ins and repositioning the seating arrangement, we opened up the room and made it feel more spacious. A floor-to-ceiling feature wall with a minimalist electric fireplace and integrated shelving became the centerpiece, setting the tone for the entire design.

Design and Materials

To achieve a refined modern aesthetic, we used a neutral color palette anchored by soft whites, warm grays, and natural textures. Wide-plank hardwood flooring laid in a straight pattern created a clean foundation, while smooth, matte finishes on the walls and built-ins enhanced the room’s contemporary feel. Sleek lighting fixtures and recessed lighting highlighted architectural details and added depth without overwhelming the space.
